Make Energy Affordable and Reliable for Ontarians

People across Ontario are dealing with a cost-of-living and climate crisis, leading to higher energy bills and more frequent extreme weather events causing significant power outages. Recent studies show that providing electrical generation, distributed energy, at or a near a home could substantially cut the costs of electricty in Ontario and ensure that Ontarians have continued access to power following future extreme weather events.

By focusing on conservation, communinity-based distribution, and investing in retrofits we can substantially cut energy costs for Ontarians while also reducing emissions.

The Affordable Energy Act calls for the province to set up agencies to finance retrofitting homes and set up distributed energy systems that will help people afford reliable and sustainable energy.
